To connect to the foreigners’ work permits in Turkey and procedures relating to work permits given to foreigners, the Law on Work Permits for Foreign 4817 and is situated in the regulations showing the application of this Law. In Turkey, taking into account the current status of foreigners who want to get a work permit, work permit certain types are determined.
Types of A-Work Permit:
a-Term Work Permit:
In the first stage, it is a type of work permit granted for 1 year. The criteria to be taken while granting a work permit are generally the duration of residence permit, employment contract, economic changes related to employment or the duration of the work. After one year legal working period; the duration of the work permit can be extended for a maximum of two more years to work in the same workplace or in the same business and in the same profession. At the end of a three-year statutory period of work, the duration of the work permit can be extended for a maximum of three more years to work alongside the employer in the same profession (Application no. M.27).
b-Work Permit indefinitely:
At least in Turkey, “eight years” legally and continuously residing or a total of “six years” to foreigners with legal work, notwithstanding the developments in his life situation and work in the labor market and a particular business, profession, civil or geographical area may be given (Application Yönt m.31). While the requirement to have at least de eight years ir of the foreigner to be permanently resident is evaluated, the periods spent in education shall not be taken into consideration. However, with the foreigners coming to Turkey, together with foreign residents, but also studying their spouses and children learning period shall be counted from the residence (Application Yönt. M.33). Permanent work permit is used depending on the residence permit periods, unless there is a change in scope. If the residence permit periods given by the security authorities are not extended in accordance with the work permit indefinitely, the Ministry is informed (Application no. M.35).
